I used an end mill cutter, it is round and cuts on the end flutes. Set the depth and out came the honeycomb bits.
I have also used a bigger flat screwdriver to achieve something similar. -

Depending on year, it could be delam of the scupper against the tank skin. Pull fuel out in flight when h near full. From your o-ring part of the story I assume 79 or late 78 bird with flush caps.

When I need wiring and cannot find it on the web, Call your avionics shop and ash them for the pinouts. They have a little yellow book with many. many different radios in it.

Well if it has red paint on it (whore lip red I believe is the color)
then that 160 hp engine was done with a FAA FSDO field approval via 337. In essence a one-time stc for just that airplane.FYI

I highly recommend port and polish on new cylinders, it does make a difference.

There may be LED bulb options for the top of the cap, but the Whelen series of combined tail/strobe will mean you can remove the flasher on the rudder entirely.

I flew a electronic, STC’ed engine, port and polished new cylinders that at altitude would outrun most Tigers and on low GPH compared to them.
29 years ago I GOT MY CALL SIGN, like Yo said, a bunch of pilots full of beer (and in a hot tub). Night would be called cause 8 hours later we had Dawn Patrol flying.
