So, a posting that says “6 replies, 3 voices,” means there are three individuals and six posts on the subject thread.

It was bestowed upon me nearly 30(+/-) years ago by a quorum of inebriated (and grounded for the evening!) Grumman pilots. You don’t get to pick your call sign, it gets pinned on you! LOL As luck had it at the time, my primary flight instructor was a Tiger owner and former USAF F-4 driver… and was among those that “voted” on my assigned callsign.

Good luck in your Tiger search! I had one years ago, and wish I hadn’t sold it. But, I must say, I am impressed by the performance I am getting out of the AA-5A Cheetah I have now. With the high compression STC and FLetchair’s Sensenich prop on the front, it scoots along pretty well and only sips the fuel. I would still like to to get an electronic ignition added though, for even better fuel economy!

I flew a electronic, STC’ed engine, port and polished new cylinders that at altitude would outrun most Tigers and on low GPH compared to them.

29 years ago I GOT MY CALL SIGN, like Yo said, a bunch of pilots full of beer (and in a hot tub). Night would be called cause 8 hours later we had Dawn Patrol flying.

Roscoe… Could that infamous evening have been (one of many) at “the center of the universe” in Jon & Ruth’s hot tub??? HAHAHA Has the statute of limitations expired yet? LOL
