      Tire pressure

      I have a 1979 Grumman Tiger and I had noted previously that it was difficult showing out compared to my neighbors piper archer. Someone had suggested setting the maingear tire pressure two 35–36 PSI and I was wondering if that is a typo or do people really put that much pressure into the main landing gear. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

      Ray,

      I usually put 33-35 in the mains, and 30 in the nose of Tigers, reduce those pressure 3 psi for Cheetahs and Travelers.

      I maintain one Tiger with a 6-cyl, it has an 8 ply nose tire and we keep it at 40 psi.

      I have a 1979 Tiger and my POH says
      Nose 25 LBS
      Main 35 LBS

      You should be fine with 30 in the nose and 35 in the mains.
