N3899J was the N number of the Cessna 150 that was owned by my original instructor. I flew it through my instrument certificate which I got in 1978. My original instructor was key in getting me started in aviation. The airplane was flipped over in a landing accident in the 90s.I put that number on the airplane to honor the memory of Clifford Matz who was my instructor. As I get older, I find it important to remember the mentors that helped me along and remind me to help others along.
