Attached is from the parts manual that shows how it attaches. If you do not have the parts and service manuals for the plane, that should be your first purchase. They can be downloaded from this site also, but it helps (me anyway) to have a printed copy when working on the plane.
It attaches with a screw, bushing, a couple of washers, and a nut to the side of the seat frame. Then there is a spring that attaches to holes on the arm and to a small bracket on the floor to pull down on the arm. If you are missing any parts, Roscoe should be able to help you out.
