      Hi All:

If you have been following this project we have just produced a second prototype set which have been checked against the originals and digital measurements (where no tool was before) and they have all passed.

Now off to a production of 20 sets, then hand deburring, scuff removal so the color will apply uniform.  Getting close.  Here are 2 pictures to tease you with.  The tool never producted (Elevator AA5A/B) is the third from the left.

      More Information:

The GPA started this project last year as all the major shop were out of sets to rent due to folks not returning them.  So with the help of many players, Ken Blackman, Fletchair, Jimmy, we put together a full set of all the tools and did the prototype work on the AA5A/B elevator tool called out in the manual and never made.  Not true now!
Here are the tools in the set we are discussing (picture in URL):

These tools are being made to original thickness material, anodized to red, laser etched labels and scale marking, removable feet (using AN hardware) for shipping and will have part name, number and aircraft served by this tool.  We are making 20 sets, better than the factory ever did.  It was decided to make the sets with style, easy to use and pretty!   Besides the elevator tool for the big tailed cats (Cheetah/Tiger) we made the sizing tool with a step in the small end for the oversize aileron bearing many of us have.  This was not done in the original sizing tools.  Every effort has been made to make these tools as functional as possible at lowest cost  and we thank all those that made suggestions.  We have extra sizing tools and bullets.  This is all part of the mission to support this fleet we love.  Other projects are in the works even as this one completes.

We are working to keep the final cost around $700 but I have not gotten updated pricing lately.

Keep in mind that  a 2-place set and a 4-place set from the factory were $1000 each.

Plus there are the sizing tool and the aileron bullets that go with each set.

So if you any interest, just send me an email and I will add you to the list.

      Thank you for your time.

      Enjoy!

      Roscoe
