We will have to see what the final revised Service Bulletin and AD has in it, but the inspection is the same as already called out in the Annual Checklist in the Service Manual. The SB and AD will likely call out the initial inspection needs to be done in X number of hours from the date the SB or AD is published, or the next Annual / 100 hour service.
To do the “Tap Test” on the entire airplane does take a lot of time, but should be done if not recently. My AA-1B I have done one area of the plane each year and rotate around. But my plane has been hangared in a dry areas for the past 30+ years. No debonding has ever been noted on my 1976 airframe. If a plane is parked outside and especially in harsh environments this should be looked at more closely.
My AA-1 Yankee project (which went through Ken Blackman’s shop and had extensive repairs done) is looking good.
There was an AA-1A with 160HP for sale in Bend OR last month, not sure if it is still for sale.
