      Greetings all!

Thought I’d introduce myself. Closed on 1977 AA5B N4783P about a month ago, got my 3hrs dual transition in and I’ve finally been up and enjoying it. I’m based out of Spokane WA. My Tiger was maintained by Ken Blackman’s crew at AirMods NW for a number of years and it shows. Firewall forward looks fantastic, panel is great, mechanically everything appears to be in great shape (given every GPA YouTube video I’ve watched on things to look for, thanks Roscoe for the videos you are CONSTANTLY putting out!) All it needs now is a new paint job to match the quality of the plane!

Thank you to the entire GPA/AYA groups for doing such amazing work over all these years with your documentation, knowledge and support. As a new owner, it has been very encouraging to see such great resources available. I’m gobbling up every piece of information I can find.

      Regards,

Congrats man! I bought a Tiger just under a year ago. Saw your plane for sale last month. Tigers are exceptional planes. Enjoy and ask questions.

Thanks! Yeah, it’s funny, I had been searching for planes for about a year and the night before the ad went up, I had officially decided to put aside my plane shopping for a bit and just rent and be happy. I was spending too much time on trade-a-plane, controller and barnstormer and needed my life back. I woke up the next morning to the barnstormer alert, saw it was only 200nm away from me and everything I was looking for and went into panic mode. I knew it would only last for a few hours before someone put a deposit down. I contacted the broker before he was even up and told him I wanted it and had a deposit ready. By the time I locked in my deposit a mere 2 hrs later, the broker already had calls from Hong Kong, Florida, California, all ready to put a deposit down.

As everyone has said, the good Grumman’s go quick. I’m sure I’ll be rather active on the forums here for a bit with lots of newbie questions 😉

Congrats on your purchase. My buying experience was the same. I think your aircraft was in one of Ken’s videos on YouTube. It’s titled “tiger with many problems”. It’s no surprise your aircraft is in great shape Ken is sooooo good about fixing everything and is very particular with his work. I would not hesitate buying an airplane maintained by him.

Congratulations on the beautiful Tiger! I’m a sucker for that red upholstery! Enjoy the airplane!
