My newly acquired AA5A is going to get a little refresh. Interior is ordered from Airtex and some of the plastic is beyond repair.

      First up is the console.

Plane Plastics shows they still make a few parts for the AA-5, but not as many as they use to.
I just received a new right hand instrument panel overlay for my Cessna 182 from them, and was not impressed. Over the last 15 years or so I had purchased about every interior part they made for this plane, including the Left hand panel. I have also purchased some AA-1 parts also.
This latest part was not up to the quality I had received in the past. It looks like with the new company ownership that production moved from Florida to Oklahoma.
You might check this site that John Ford brought to my attention as it looks like they have been working on producing interior parts for the Grummans.

Yes, that is one source. I’m not sure how much of the plastic needs replacement. Some look good, but others are so brittle they break just by looking at them.

A quick glue and paint job on the top of the center console.

I wasn’t sure if I was going to keep the flexible light, but after a round of Barkeepers Friend, it looked so good that I have to….

I bought an aft console for an AA5 last year from Fletchair. They might have the forward part too. It’s worth a call.
