I decided it was time to switch the incandescent lighting out in favor of LED. It was fairly straight forward but as you know when you start opening things up you find things that you want to clean or fix. The glare shield and eyebrow was cleaned and repainted w SEM Satin Black. Parts used: T-3 1/4 Bayonet Base, Aero-lites AL-1816-R T3-1/4 base LED bulbs, FreshAero EasyBrow Light AA-1 Red. Stock dimmer works for all lighting.

That’s a Huge improvement over stock lighting. I was out flying my AA-1B the other night for the first time in a while. Even though I had added more lighting years ago, I forgot how poor the lighting is compared to my Cessna.

For my Yankee project I have a fiberglass eyebrow that I recessed a Superior Panel Technology’s LED Light Strip. This does require a separate dimmer switch, which I installed on the panel. This does provide a much more even lighting compared to the factory. I still might add a few selected post lights.

I just placed my order with Airtex for seats, side panels and carpets.
