Drew,
Do you have a pictures you can upload of the leaks? This will help identify where it is coming from and therefore a possible fix.

Topped my tank off a couple of weeks ago. right wing right rear excess cover has some staining along front edge. No drip marks on hangar floor or run marks to fuselage aircraft was topped off when cold and now has warmed up this week in the midwest. Probably will have to reseal excess cover, according to the maintenance manual the tank is not vented.I assumed there would be enough room in tank for expansion because of the dihedral in the wing, I assumed wrong. My AA1B is vented and I never worry about filling it up. lesson well learned with new airplane and new quirks. Next question what type of sealer is approved to be used on our Grumman”s to seal excess covers on wing tank.

I see you have an AA1B which has a vented tank and so does your Cheetah. The sealant for fuel tank covers is PRC1428-B2 low adhesion sealant. Video of this is at: https://youtu.be/n4e6WyhvmNc.
Best of luck.

And now more questions? Vent line is on top of sump? Where does vent line go to or exit? If fuel in tank expands when full when it warms up shouldn”t I see evidence of drip marks on the floor somewhere? or is there enough room for expansion in the AA5 series. I put pans under the drains on the AA1B. There is always evidence of the tanks dripping. The videos on this site are informative and help a lot in maintaining our aircraft. Thanks Roscoe

The vent line from the sump goes back into the tank as shown here https://youtu.be/aHHj6yQjSXI. The real vent line is on the outboard panel of your cheetah and you should make sure it is never blocked or the wing can collapse, which will deform the wing skin at least and at most crush an internal rib. So is it legal for me to glue this piece back together and put the proper screw and washer on it? It seems to be held on only with one screw on top, one on the bottom and it is pressed into position. Seems to be a faring and not anything structural. If so do you have any recommendations as to what adhesive I should use and does the particular screw and washer have a particular number designation?

Thank you so much. That is perfect. If I go to my local mechanic will he know what type of screw and washer that is? Does it have to be replaced with an identical one?. Again, thanks so much.
