So I have a Shadin fuel flow gizmo on my 1979 Grumman Tiger. It looks like the one in this photo except that the actual readout is yellow instead of red but all the buttons and other things seem to be identical. After I had the plane for about four or five hours it was working just fine showing what a big difference leaning made in the fuel flow. I had full tanks was on a leisurely trip so I started fooling with it pushing buttons, turning dials and ever since that moment the fuel flow left-hand side of the gauge will only read zero. I spoke with Shadin and they suggested a possible bad connection or transducer but it just seems an awfully unlikely coincidence that this happened at the exact very instant that I started fooling with the dials. Have any of you ever used this kind of fuel flow instrument and do you think I might have gotten it into some “mode” that is causing this. Don’t see anything in the online manual. If any of you have ever experienced this I would love to hear it. If not stop reading now and have a good holiday season. Thanks.
