AA-1B. Fuel is slowly disappearing from the right tank with aircraft parked. About 1/4 tank over approx. 10 days. There is NO outside indication of a leak (under wing and fuselage) and no gas smell.

Where is the fuel going ?

Ware, I wonder if your neighbor who is parked next to you might be helping himself to some expensive avgas? 😉

Seriously, 1/4 tank of 10 days seems pretty excessive, especially with no outside indications. Assuming you have 38 gallon tanks, then one wing would hold 19 gallons. 1/4 of that would be 4.75 gallons lost over 10 days or, .475 gallons per day. That’s a roughly half gallon over 24 hours or 0.0197 gallons per hour which I would think would be pretty hard to detect.

I had a similar issue with my fuel tank scupper drain lines being cracked and were “weeping”. It wasn’t enough to make a full-fledged drip but it WAS enough to notice if I rubbed my finger on the fuel drains and smelled the avgas. May want to see if yours have deteriorated?

      Keep us updated

My wing tanks only hold 11 gal each, so the loss is a bit less. Although I did change the drain (on the leaky side) about 3 months ago because it appeared to be weeping, I will check it again.
      Thanks for the feedback.
