      Have you, or do you know anyone who has, replaced the Marvel Schebler HA-6 10-5092 with an HA-6 10-5219 on a Tiger? The 5219 supposedly supersedes the 5092. If so, were you (or they) pleased, displeased, etc? The 5092 that I am working with is from a ’78 Tiger O-360.

      We figured it out. Looked up the Type Certificate Data Sheet (see attached). The 10-5092 and the 10-5219 were originally FAA approved at the same time (November 1974), so it seems the 5219 does not supersede the 5092. The 10-6019 was approved later (September 1990). The tech at Marvel Schebler said the 5219 flows about 1/2 gallon/hour more than the 5092, and the 6019 about 2.5 gallons more per hour. Russ at D&G Supply, in Niles MI (thanks for the referral, Roscoe), is rebuilding our 5092 and is confident he can make it run well. Keep in mind, there is a difference between an overhauled carburetor and a rebuilt carburetor. It may be a small difference, but there is a difference. The overhauled is “within limits;” rebuilt is to a higher standard.
