I’m a new owner and replaced the glare shield. The two speakers were filthy and appeared useless since I’m always with a headset. I assumed they were a 1970’s production aircraft accessory for music. However, my instructor noticed that we had no audible angle of attack warning during maneuvers. Was one of the speakers used for the AOA?, if so, which one or both? If not, where do I look to repair the AOA. Thanks Frank

      Frank,
No angle of attack indicator unless yours has an add on somehow, just an electric switch vane on the right wing to a horn under the panel.
Use the links on this website to download a maintenance and parts manual for your plane, AA5 or AA1. 27-8-1 on the AA5 has a diagnostic chart.
start with the obvious, 5 amp fuse.

I should have said electric stall vane switch, also the speakers were for the radios, technically their part of the equipment list issued with the aircraft. These days we all use headsets so they can be removed, but the documentation should be correct. W&B adjustment, log book entry.

Thanks Kevin. Checked the fuse and it is ok. I’ll followup on your other suggestions.
      Appreciate it.

Thanks much KP. I located most but not all of these from the info you previously provided. I certainly appreciate the time you took to help me.
      THanks again
      Frank
