I have a 73 AA1B I purchased a couple of months ago and its been sitting for a number of years. There is a lot of varnish buildup in the wing tanks and I already removed and rebuilt the baffle system including removal of each baffle and soda blasting them (see Pix).

The problem is that the varnish inside the tanks is impossible to reach. Wings are 8 ft. long but I can reach inside further than about 3 ft. per side and the stuff is like epoxy glue and required lots of scraping.

      Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Looks like you are doing good work. I would guess the plane had auto gas sitting in them for extended periods, something I have tried to avoid back when I was using it a lot.
I would be interested in how you work this out as I plan on pulling the end plugs on my Yankee project and inspect them before I put the wings back on the airplane.

One way to get the gunk out is to put about a gallon of lacquer thinner in a tank and let it soak and then roll to new position, repeat. Lots of stuff will come out. You are going to put in new o-rings right? They will not like the lacquer thinner. FYI
