Just flew my shiny new AA1 Clipper home, bought it on Thursday 5/12/16

Step 1 – Entire avionics stack is offline
The fuses visually look alright – unlabeled so not sure what they go to
There are some breakers labeled for panel items (xpdr, comm, etc) but they are so old they dont actuate well (if at all?)

Step 2 – add intercom and dual PTT switches.
Currently only 1 set of jacks and no push-to-talk switches. Unknown if these work as Step 1 prevents testing.
-I found this, however not sure if its what I am looking for. I dont see how PTT works….Linky
-It is not TSO certified and I’m not sure what a 339 signoff is.

Alright, so I need some advice from all you guys out there…

Turns out that most of my avionics are just old and not working
      Currently I have installed
      – toggle switch style audio panel
      – King kx175 – one set of jacks and no PTT – RX only TX-inop
      – narco at50 transponder – currently inop
      – old loran unit – also inop

I just purchased a GMA340 Audio Panel to install that gives intercom and much needed compatibility for updates

I need a new radio (or 2), one of which I would like to drive a glideslope — I was thinking of a kx155 or Garmin SL30

also might consider installing a gtx327 if there is a cost effective upgrade option for ads-b compliance.

I am on a limited budget (<5k) but would consider a little expense for added features.

Is someone has some suggestions I would REALLY appreciate them!!

Pulled everything in the radio stack out on Sunday morning. Will be installing the following this week.

      GMA-340
      King KX-235 navcom (com1) will drive ki-208
      Icom A220 (com2)
      gtx-327

If anyone sees anything they want its free to the highest postage. Most of the old stuff was inop. most of my connections/switches/etc. were very badly corroded. No idea if the units work with good connections.

Getting there! Harness is installed and trays are rough mounted. Still haven’t received my kx125 so final tray placement will depend on that.

      Here’s a preview!

The completed stack! Everything is in working order and the intercom is very nice to have. I do need to replace the long coax runs to the antennae before I can use my comms. The rubber jacket is rotting =(

The new coaxes these days ore far superior to the stuff installed in the 70’s. Lower loss, etc.

      Cheers
