A realistic and secure iPad mount?
So, probably like most of us, I use ForeFlight on my iPad while flying my tiger. I think I have tried every possible combination of gadgets, hinges, connectors etc. to try to get it placed in a spot where it didn’t bounce, it was easy to get to and didn’t obscure any instrumentation and by golly I think I found it. If you look at the first Photo, you will see a thread nut that I have put into the “dashboard“ on the pilot side. The second photo shows exactly what I used. It just so happens that when you take my iPad and put it where shown it is absolutely 100% rocksolid and doesn’t obscure any Instrumentation or much of a view out the window. It doesn’t require any othermounting at all. It just fits very snuggly without any movement. The only problem is attaching it on one edge only firmly to the “Dashboard”So that it doesn’t rock or move. The plastic disk is not supporting any weight it is only holding it firmly to the dashboard. I then have my mini iPad mounted to the yoke which I use solely to watch for ADSB traffic enroute and with an instrument approach I put the approach plate right there on the screen so it is straight up and down and I can read everything. Just thought I would show this. It is one of 100 million different ways of doing it and it may not come close to working for you but I find that it is working for me. Also note that I have my eight dollar timer on my dash to remind me to switch fuel tanks.

Sorry for all the upload errors. Photos were simply too big. All you fathers out there have a good Father’s Day.

That’s a clever way to secure the ipad. Does it move much when poking the screen in bumpy flight?
