ParticipantSame issue with a JPI. Appears this is the wrong place for an OAT probe.

ParticipantI called them and they said the approved propellers were listed on the STC…
I will call again.
I have heard better climb and cruise with the sensenich propeller. True?

ParticipantI have the Precision STC for HC pistons, the flight manual supplement only authorizes 2 McCauley propellers. How do I get the approval for a Senesnich 61? 74 AA5

ParticipantI put the powerflow on my 74 traveler recently. I didn’t notice much, maybe 30ish RPM increase static with the McCauley cruise prop. Sounds nicer though…
Fuel flow is maybe down .2 gph. This is with the high compression pistons.
Lots of repairs going on now but I think EIS will be on my list.

ParticipantAccording to the maintenance manual the balance must be checked after painting. The procedure is in the maintenance manual too, though I have not studied it. I downloaded the maintenance manual from this site.

ParticipantThank you Roscoe, next oil change I will check the compression and if still low give the oil a try.
Powerflow exhaust should ship later this month. Will try to get as specific as possible on my before/after numbers.

ParticipantNo one has answered so I will jump in with my first post. I am far from an expert, I just bought a 74 traveler in November. It has the Precision STC and the 7359 propeller. It has done some sitting prior to me and the compression is not that great. 74/68/73/71. I bought a digital tach so I am confident in the RPM numbers. 40 degree days in Seattle I get about 2330 RPM static. At 100 mph climb I get a bit over 2500. With stronger compression I would consider a 61 but I am more interested in getting off the runway than I am in going fast.
I hope using fly therapy the compression will get a bit better…

ParticipantThe cigarette lighter itself is rather worn and rusty. I have had to jiggle the USB adapter to make contact. Where would you recommend I look for s new one? Do we use the $90 TSO version?
