ParticipantWe figured it out. Looked up the Type Certificate Data Sheet (see attached). The 10-5092 and the 10-5219 were originally FAA approved at the same time (November 1974), so it seems the 5219 does not supersede the 5092. The 10-6019 was approved later (September 1990). The tech at Marvel Schebler said the 5219 flows about 1/2 gallon/hour more than the 5092, and the 6019 about 2.5 gallons more per hour. Russ at D&G Supply, in Niles MI (thanks for the referral, Roscoe), is rebuilding our 5092 and is confident he can make it run well. Many shied away from overhauling/rebuilding the 5092, but Russ was not intimidated by it. Keep in mind, there is a difference between an overhauled carburetor and a rebuilt carburetor. It may be a small difference, but there is a difference. The overhauled is “within limits;” rebuilt is to a higher standard.

ParticipantTony, just curious — did your neighbor with the Beech Sundowner have an STC for auto fuel?
