We are replacing the carburetor on our 1978 AA5B. Getting the airbox was not as easy as the maintenance manual “implied”. We had to remove the primer tubing from the firewall elbow in order to get the airbox up and out. We and are mystified about getting the safety wire back properly on the four bolts which attach the airbox to the carburetor. The space is very confined and hard to access. Anyone have any suggestions or tricks to getting the safety wire back on properly?

Tighten the bolts from the airbox to the carb. Run safety wire through the bolt heads (in a tightening fashion). A pain I know but it can be done.

      Cheers

Thanks Roscoe. I thought there was no easy path 🙂
