Is there a known/proper position for the prop to stop after shutdown? Ours is 6-12:00 every time. The information online is all over the place. Lycoming O-320 with high compression cylinders, standard Cheetah powerplant.
It depends on the engine, but mostly on the prop’s original starting position when it was installed. Maintenance manual call out with #1 at TDC, blade one of the prop is to be installed at clock position (depends on model) and has the engine been dynamically balanced.
