Going to need to replace the fuel pump in AA5B Tiger N28289. What is your recommendation, and who is the best vendor for the purchase?

Are you talking about the mechanical one on the engine or the electric pump on the firewall?

Talked to Bill and it was the mechanical pump. One of the diaphragms had cracked and was allowing oil to leak out the overflow port on the pump. It was also allowing fuel into the oil system. This will dilute the oil, reduce lubrication GREATLY , and the oil will turn black very quickly since it is cleaning the inside of the crankcase and all the components.

Should this happen to your mechanical fuel pump, do not fly the plane until this is fixed.

On a related note, make sure you replace your correct model fuel pump, there are more than one that will bolt on, but no allow you to hook up your old fuel hose system.

      Cheers
