I heard a rumor that the AG5B fiberglass wingtips are considerably lighter than the AA5B wingtips and you might be able to install the AG5B wingtips on an AA5B and get some nice weight reduction. Has anyone else ever heard this or done this?

The carbon fiber wingtips are very light compared to the fiberglass models.  It was on N4525W which was put together from pieces acquired at the AGAC Auction in October of 1994 by Jon Maestre in yellow in photo.  Dave Fletcher far right.  Neil Rice far left. Roscoe second from left, Ken third from left. Plane is still flying and it had the carbon fiber wingtips. One other plane could have the other set that was sold at the auction.

      Cheers
