Today while flying both ways over the Great Smoky Mountains, there is a 150 nm stretch that is very, very smoky up to 6500 MSL.  Here are a few shots of the waves of smoke from 8500 MSL.

Notice anything unusual about the Airplane?smoky-3

One wing has a 79 fuel cap, the other the old style. Plane had a wing replaced years ago when you could call the factory and order a new wing! The bill said $750 for a new wing. It was a long, long time ago.
