In a box I have two AA-1 flap motors with worm drive. One motor does not appear to work at all, but I have not played with it too much. The other I pulled out out of my ’76 AA-1B. It would retract in about in about 7 – 8 seconds, but took close to 20 seconds to run the flaps down, both on the ground or in flight. After years of playing with it (changed brushes, cleaning, etc.) I happened across a new in the box old stock motor and swapped it out.
If someone is interested in trying to rebuild these or has a source to rebuild them, make me an offer.
