      Hello everyone,

I have been doing some research on the AA# airplanes since about a year ago and have taken a liking to them. The next step for me would be to possibly meet someone who has one of these cats and would be willing to meet? Maybe chat about your experience and who knows, maybe fly out for a quick bite (shared cost of fuel?). I’m especially curious as to the ‘differences’ in the Traveler and AA5b and whether any of the AA5’s is especially good for longer distance flying at adequate speeds and usable for some back-country airports? Would love to hear about your experiences….
I live in Lawrence, KS but can travel around the larger Kansas City area (Gardner, Olathe, Downtown Airport, Lee’s Summit). Tried to get in touch with people through our VAA chapter but that hasn’t worked, so now I’m trying it through here. Feel free to email me, pmaschke [at] msn [dot] com

      Thanks 🙂

I have a AA-5B Tiger at 0N0 Roosterville on the NE side of KC. There is a AA-5A Cheetah at Missouri city and another low time AA5-A Cheetah, 160 HP long range tanks, at KGPH that is for sale. If you would like to talk or joy ride let me know.

      Larry Fehner,

I would like to chat with you regarding the 160 Cheetah at KPGH for sale!
I can give you my number if the plane is still available, or if you will be going to the GPA National Gathering at KHAO (June 6-9), I’ll be there also.

      Let me know, Sir!

Did anything come of this thread? I’m looking for a Tiger as well, but will look at other AA5’s. There’s a Cheetah at Wheeler Downtown that I’ve seen for sale online, but I haven’t seen anything on the other aircraft mentioned.

Pat, I met Larry and through him the Roosterville APs who are great. He showed me the plane mentioned above and it certainly needed some TLC if it could be bought in the first place. Then I had some fortunate events finding someone in the KC Aviator Facebook group where I then found a guy who was selling his and hasn’t posted it online at that point. I know there’s some people who might be interested in a share? But I haven’t heard or seen anything for sale in the area lately. Hope that helps?

Hello, newly registered and found this thread. Selling my Beech Sundowner and thinking of getting into a Tiger- prefer post 2000 models. I have a hangar at KLXT now and plan to hold it though August/September. May consider a single partner to help split the expenses.
