      Been working on my 1978 AA-5A. Put an overhauled carb (10-5009) from APSS on it then had both mags overhauled (Points on both showed excessive arcing) had plug wires tested and replaced all the plugs. On runup (100ft density alt) I get up to 250 drop per mag. If I lean the engine out (approx 1 inch on mixture control) I get to 125 per side and within 25 to each other. Any thoughts?

      Dave,
      There’s a mixture adjustment procedure in the maintenance. Start there.
