Our AA-1A is equipped with the Cruise Prop.

MAX RPM right now is 2,350 and that seems low.
What are you all seeing with similarly equipped AA-1A’s?

We noticed it before the annual. During the annual we checked, plugs, throttle rig, carburetor for blockage, mixture rig, Carb heat operation, replaced the air filter, changed the oil, drained the tanks and put in fresh 100LL. All that looked great.

After we checked everything, and closed the plane up, we ran it and got 2,350 rpm. We did a few runs down the runway at 75-80 mph, the RPM was still 2,350.

Mag drop at 1,800 was about 50 RPM/Side.
RPM rise at shut-down was right about 100 RPM.

It could be that I just forgot what the RPM is supposed to be for this plane… Video below shows 2,300 ish.

Hih J.P., I’m sorry I don’t have an answer for you (yet) But I am very interested in where you got your slide canopy top tinted. What did you do? Where was it done? It looks really clean.

      Thank you.

That is the factory optional sun screen. Attached is the page from the AA-1 parts manual that shows it. I think new replacement screens are available though one of the windshield companies (Cee-Bailey, LP Aero). Then if your plane does not have the clips, you need to find them. Roscoe I think has them.
